Our language helper's grandma (known to us as "Dadi," which is what you call your father's mother) had eye surgery a couple months back. During her time of recovery she had to wear sunglasses to protect her eyes. She would even have to wear them inside.
Well, we visit their house about once a week, and during one of those weeks following her surgery we decided it would be a good idea to take a picture of us all wearing our shades!
| Dadi is half dressed here. Normal. See her cast though? She was trying to go to the hospital after her eye surgery on a RAINY day and fell... breaking her hand... and hurting her foot. :( |
Dadi liked our sunglasses better than hers, saying hers were "karab," which means bad/messed up. I decided we needed to surprise her with a new pair from one of the nearby markets. I didn't get around to buying them for a couple of weeks because I would never remember at the right time... but FINALLY I found some for her, and we were able to take them to her today!!
| Thankfully our language helper had some sunglasses Meagan could borrow so she could join in the picture this time! :) |
She loved them and said we made her young! :) Then she said she is old and asked why we would waste our money on her. We just told her we love her and that she is special to us... and most importantly, that she's special to the Father! We are continually asking that she will come to realize just HOW MUCH He cares for her.
